I believe that started many years ago, when NASCAR was mainly a southern sport and much more dangerous than it is today, before all the latest safety features.

The dispute between NASCAR and a pair of racing teams is getting uglier, with NASCAR filing a countersuit against Michael Jordan's 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports.

Cindric penalized after COTA; No. 5 Hendrick team hit with suspensions

NASCAR penalized Austin Cindric, driver of the No. 2 Team Penske Ford, on Wednesday after an incident between him and Ty Dillon in last Sunday’s Cup Series race at Circuit of The Americas. NASCAR also hit the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports team with two pit crew suspensions after a lost wheel during the race.

Goodyear option tire returns to Cup Series for Phoenix spring race.

NASCAR announced on Jan. 22 that the Goodyear option tire will return to the NASCAR Cup Series for the spring weekend at Phoenix Raceway.

It will be the same process that was utilized for the summer race at Richmond Raceway last year where each Cup Series team was given six primary sets of tires for the race and two sets of option tires.

Katherine Anne Legge is a British professional auto racing driver and will become the first woman to compete in a NASCAR Cup race since Danica Patrick drove in the 2018 Daytona 500. Legge will pilot the No. 78 for Live Fast Motorsports, which is running a limited Cup schedule this season. Katherine Anne Legge has competed in the IndyCar Series, IMSA SportsCar Championship. She holds the record for the fastest qualifying effort for a woman in Indianapolis 500 history, set in 2023, and was the first woman to win a major open-wheel race in North America in 2005.

As Arizona is one of the 2 states that doesn’t observe Daylight Saving Time, I wonder how many of the Cup drivers may have erroneously set their Rolex/Tag Heuer wrist watches one hour ahead last night / early this morning and will then show up an hour early for the Drivers’ Meeting? 🙂

I guess the time displayed on their cell phones will be correct though.
