Donoreo Pharmaceutical companies do not want to cure cancer, there is too much money to be made in treating it. As cold as that sounds, it is real. “It’s just business”.
I would disagree as to your comments as to their motivation.
It might be more true if there were a shortage of cancer patients, but there are plenty of cancer patients, and new patients all the time. They have plenty of new patients.
And much progress HAS been made, although there are so many factors overall.

Sometimes people really do want to do the right thing.
For example:
Aside from other controversies, water flouridation DOES cut down on cavities.
And organized dentistry DOES SUPPORT flouridation, even though it results in less business for dentists.
If any companies should be bashed for cancer, it should be tobacco companies, alcohol companies, companies that sell overprocessed or oversweetened food, and companies that pollute the air and water in all sorts of ways.
