This is the latest incident of a discussion link being posted here that was A Malware Link
Without Naming Names or the Discussion one of our site members included a Link in their topic response that upon only just entering the Discussion it called Home with gathered User Information.
My Malwarebytes Browser Guard Caught and blocked it and popped up an alert.
The subsequent Discussion was Locked and Hidden until the offending Link was found and eliminated then the Discussion was restored.
Moral of this story is use a Browser Guard and take care and verify the safety of the links you post using of a Browser Guard would be recommended for your safety and Ours.

The problem party was not the Linked Web Site itself but the Web hosting service. When checking the IP with whois all the pertinent information said Purged for Privacy and direct IP contact triggers the same alert and leads only to a blank white page and a text email address.

I’ve had similar warnings when visiting sites recommended by a Google search. Every time that happens, even if it’s every few months or so, I’m glad I paid for the service.

I’ve done similar removals for the forum that I moderate. Even if Malwarebytes doesn’t trigger when I look at the link, I’ll remove it because someone else said it was malware.
