I’m a Frontier customer.

I’d like to know what price plans Verizon is doing so I know what to expect, I know there will be price increases, it’s common sense, but how bad will they be?

I’m paying 40 for 500/500 with whole home and Eero Secure. But it’s probably going up in September.

I’d go to Verizon’s web site and look for current plans available at your address. I don’t know if they have plans for seniors, veterans etc. but they should have those listed if they exist.

These are the going prices paying with checking account autopay and a savings of $10/mo. You can also get an additional $15/mo. off with any Verizon or Verizon branded mobile plan. A Router is included in the rental.

I was looking at Internet only plans and in NY State, they hide in the fine print that there is a $2.49 Municipal surcharge on each of these plans. May not apply to all.

Wow, those prices are about double Frontier’s. I’m paying 30.00 a month for 500/500.

Next question: Is there a cap or throttling? I sure hope not!!!

Philadelphia area. I was able to get $34.95 for 2 years last December. They’re offering similar now - or were a few weeks ago. I called and asked if I could extend the rate and was told I couldn’t because I was already on that rate. The CSR said he would “put a note on my account to get that rate next December.” We’ll see next December.

The other offer they have going on was to combine cell service and FiOS. I switched over to Visible cell service - $19/month for 26 months unlimited (supposedly) then $25.00/month. Visible qualifies for 300 Mb. FiOS at $34.95

The going rate is $59.99 /mo for 300 Mbps/300 Mbps. Then there is a $10/Mo. credit for autopay/paperless billing. And then there is a $15/Mo. mobile discount if you have Verizon Wireless or any Verizon Value Brand product. That comes to $34.99/Mo.

ETA: Then there is a $15/Mo. credit for new customers for 3 years making it $20/Mo.

KurtLandis Likewise, I’m using my own router. The only thing I needed was to enable the ONT’s ethernet port.* My ONT is indoors in my basement. Verizon turned it on. A short CAT-5 cable to the router, done.

I’m on the 300 Mbps plan for $44.99. It’s all I need.

* I have Verizon FiOS. ONT == Optical Network Terminal.

That’s Verizon LTE Home Internet. I was talking about the current rates for Fios Fiber Optic as that is what was being discussed.

ETA: I guess new customers can get an additional $15/mo off for 3 years. So, $20/Month for 300/300 Fiber.

PL1 I didn’t follow the link. That being LTE makes sense. $34.99 for 300 Mb. symmetric still ain’t too shabby. Comcast can beat it for one year - $40/month INCLUDING unlimited cell service for 12 months but what comes after the 12 months.

GeekGirl1 If you’re 300 Mbps you may be able to do better. $44.99 should get you 500 Mbps I believe, 300 Mbps should be $34.99. You’re right, 300 Mbps up and down is adequate for most users. I’m sure there are some home users that can make good use of Gb. speeds but I suspect in most cases it’s more about “Mine’s bigger than yours”. I wonder if most home users won’t benefit more from lower latency than from ‘bigger pipes’. And FiOS is hard to beat there, I have around 7 ms. over a MoCA network which adds a ms or two.
