RayGeode A little bar in Bethel CT can no longer host an open Mike night due to enforcement of music licensing.
Actually they can continue but must buy a license which costs very little, the same applies to juke box’s and many other venues.
It i s only fair as artists are paid out of that licensing, if a club wants to make money which they where doing it is only fair they pay a licensing fee to ASCAP or BMI.
Anything less is theft of intellectual property.
