In our many years of travels on motorcycles, we’ve had close calls with: deer, skunks, dogs, bears, rattlesnakes, birds, elk, moose, horses… the list goes on and on! Most scary was Moose in Maine, as it towered far above any other animal. I swerved - it stared blankly at us as we went by a couple feet from it’s face!
Worst was rattlesnake: bike in front of us - it’s rear wheel tossed it up onto our windshield/fairing, rattling loudly as it hit, but after a second or two which made it clear it was a large rattlesnake - and not a garden snake, it bounced off, and our rear tire further squished it. Other guy bought dinner that night!
Edit: yeah, forgot! Came around blind turn on hillside to find a just-landed hot air balloon blocking roadway. Forgot where, but it was a “Brake Check!!” event!
They all had ‘deer in headlights’ attitudes, including hot air pilot!!😳
