Astyanax That means you should just stop buying them. Buying a juicer is just trying to avoid the guilt that you don't like them but should because they're good for you.
That's absolute BS. I love fruits and vegetables and eat them all the time. Even before the juicer I had a crisper drawer full of vegetables and a basket full of fruits. Just this evening I had asparagus and spiced apples with dinner; the other day I baked a blackberry pie. I am on a limited budget and buy everything when it is on sale usually in quantity. However, I am quite busy taking care of my elderly mother and taking care of the household chores. I am also disabled and things take me much longer to perform, not to mention the many doctors appointments. I love to cook and make most from scratch, but most recipes yield a lot of servings and each dish usually lasts for days. You can't buy just two or three stalks of celery and a couple of carrots so you can make a batch of soup. So after making a batch it may be days before I can use those veggies again. The next meal may not use those ingredients. so they may not get used in time. Other days I don't feel like cooking and have canned/packaged/frozen meals. I also buy fruits often with the intention of using them quickly, but life (and procrastination) often gets in the way. I bought a juicer not out of guilt but of adding another way to enjoy fruits and vegetables. Years ago I was a vegetarian, I was younger and had the energy and the time to make a fruit platter every morning before sending the kids off to school and going to my classes. It would have a great variety of fruits - bananas, peaches, pears, apples, berries, cantaloupe, melon and various other fruits all hand sliced. We would each have a fork and dig in.. I lived in WA state and fruits were plentiful and cheap. It is not that way where I live now so when I do buy them I like to use them in as many ways as I can.
Astyanax I don't cook and rarely buy fresh produce. What I do buy are some pre-picked and washed ready-to-eat fruit cups. Any other veggies I eat come with my take-out or restaurant meals.
Perhaps you should buy a juicer and get more nutrients into your drive-thru diet; no cooking involved and prep/cleaning is easy.
