Unusual "out for delivery" time

Partly to test tariiffs, I ordered a couple of things from Ali.
The package went through shipping and customs in about 10 days, which I think is pretty decent.

And as of 8:26 PM, it is out for delivery!! 😲

I’m not fully sure if this is just BS, or I’ll have something here by the time I get up. 🫤

It was probably put on the local delivery truck at that time and hence ‘out for delivery’.

Shipping time is not used to test tariffs.

As per my experience, that is incorrect. Seems to me that the shipping is handled by Aliexpress, so it’s a lot more predictable than eBay shipping which is dependent on individual sellers.

BTW, the package was at the door by 9 AM!! 😲

Generally carrier data is specified, so as good as carrier(s).
Fully tracking multi-carrier handoffs can be a bit bothersome.

There was a period during which tracking numbers generated by a “meta-carrier”
were allowed, easily abused, and eventually shut down.
