I got this email for one of our buisness sites. This site is mabye a mile down the road by the headend. When we had fiber they had to pad it down with an attenuator because the signal is so hot. But the site is docsis now for backup and other ancillary internet only things that don’t have to come home on our other providers 10 gig fiber ring.
The site has 800/35mbps today. Gainmaker amp right outside the building on the pole and down the whole stretch, as well as periodic Bel Air Networks wifi AP’s on the strand.
The rest of the system is mid split, so I’m curious if in 2025 this will continue to be mid split like the rest of the system just to match and make supporting it uniform, or if this is going to be an FDX test bed since its so close to the hub. Bolded the section that makes me think this is D4.0 which is great if they are breaking out of the mold and doing something different than they did in the rest of the system. I remember they used to have the LCD (Lowest common denominator) approach. Didn’t matter there were pockets of gainmaker 860 MHz gear… they only ran around 770 MHz because most of the system was SA 750 system II with stretch taps. The Comcast of today is much more aggressive than the Comcast of yesterday.
