2 Gig is the same price as 1.2 Gbps on mid-split nodes/amps in my area. (Harmonic CableOS nodes and ARRIS amps installed in Q3 2022/2023, previously NC4000).
Heavy AT&T Fiber presence causing it? Many people in my area have flocked to AT&T Fiber over the years. Also overheard a co-worker trying to cancel Comcast last week on the phone with customer service. Was trying to get out of contract and cancel, claims the service had plenty of general connectivity issues over the years and was begging to be let out of contract, and stating that I will refuse to pay any ETF if charged. Sub-split node for those interested.
Worries me, with a lot of people canceling, feel like Comcast may start to abandon the plant maintenance and DELAY mid-split/FDX upgrades. Hopefully not. Plant maintenance on my node is top notch, so I’m not personally worried about that. (most of my neighborhood served by my node has no AT&T Fiber available, so Comcast penetration is high). Just worried about lack of network improvements being done like mid-split/FDX which cost $$$.
