takeahike So what’s worse–breathing only semi polluted air or having the many who drive around here with brakes that barely stop, bald tires and windshield wipers that do nothing riding behind you when you have to stop at a stop sign, railroad crossing or red light?
I’ll take unsafe drivers in unsafe vehicles over mandatory annual safety inspections which are for the most part meaningless.
People either care about how they drive and what they drive or do not and annual inspections do noting to solve that problem.
The only solution for that is enforcement, expensive fines combined with towing vehicles to the impound yard pending being brought up to compliance.
Don’t burden the majority who properly maintains and operate their vehicles with inspections, place the burden on those who are irresponsible and do not drive safely of maintain their vehicles through enforcement of the already existing laws.
