I’m extremely skeptical there weren’t warning signs in the room. I’ve never been in an MRI room and not seen signs everywhere, from the outside of the room, to the inside of the room, to the floor of the room, to the device itself. That and I’ve been in an MRI room in both New York state and the province of Ontario and at both locations for MRI (and CAT) scans there are signs _everywhere. _
However I was curious if NY had any mandates on this and it turns out they do not, that there is no official obligation that anyone has to display signs that an MRI machine is a highly magnetic device and will kill you.
Do I expect people to know that? Not exactly, it’s easy to forget.
Do I expect there to be signs warning people? Yes, there should be.
Do I expect that staff will warn people of the dangers of metal objects? Yes, they definitely should.
