Guy54435 I too grew up with Phil. It was 54 degrees F yesterday and it makes me anxious for Spring. . . which comes in 47 more days. And that's just a little over 6 weeks. 😉

They keep trying but the problem repeats every year (ironically somewhat like the movie).

We are going to see an extended winter with the real snow yet to come for some of the country. April will be cold for much of it for many. May will be temperate and June will be hot again. August will cool off somewhat.

Just wild-ass guesses/predictions???

In our far North some towns have had 35+ inches of rain in the last 3 day with much more to come., Meanwhile in the "temperate " South we are getting 5-6 day stretches of temperatures above 90F.

Actually, according to this article, Punxsutawney Phil's accuracy is not very good at all, while "Staten Island Chuck" in NYC has been surprising on target most of the time:
