This general conversation has occurred quite often in the past years…..
Due to Hardware and Software limitations, I did NOT upgrade past W7-64 on 3x systems here…
2x Laptops: one a daily user, Other a modified But Tired Core-2 that is only used for UPS via USB testing, and WiFi RF Examinations, and occasional SD & HD Video HDSDI/SDI/Analog Capturing at remote sites….
Other: an old Supermicro Server, used for SD/HD Video Editing and DVD/BR authoring….
Realizing years ago that an issue could occur later, I put my money into a Better Router, with Firewall, database packages, and Packet Sniffer Software…. That continues to receive daily upgrades to this day…
Over the case of the years since W7-64’s Demise…. I’ve continued on with this approach… I do have a clone of the boot SSD, on the shelf, “In Case”, but have never had to use it…. on any W7-64 system here…
So……. What is the problem? I really don’t see one!!!

Now if any of the 3 outright completely die…. I’ll retrieve what I can from them, and know it was a: ‘good ride’…. But for now – It’s continue on as if nothing is to be concerned about!!
