bjlockie Why is the website not in English/French if they are in Canada?
They are in Reykjavik Iceland - not in Canada. Likely the person is here in Canada on a temporary basis and had their car shipped in to drive while they are here. It is legal to drive EU and Asian registered cars in Canada if they are not being imported and are only here for your stay (Just like people from Mexico and the US driving around on our roads) - I saw an overlanding rig on 401 a month or so ago on my way home from work, I was driving behind him for a while - long enough to see his EU plates were Estonian. I’m guessing he is doing one of those “drive around the world things” - drove from Estonia to England, got the vehicle in a container on a ship to Halifax likely, flew over, met the car and continued - he’ll drive to Vancouver and get the rig shipped to asia - probably Hong Kong - and continue west from there across Asia and back into Europe. Your icelandic visitor could be here on a military stationment, a short work stay, or simply a long summer vacation bopping about Canada and didn’t want a rental car for 3 months at $100 /day (I’m sure its less than $9000 to get his vehicle in a container to Canada and back again - probably half that)
