Hi everyone!
Not much to report here in the Buffalo / WNY Market. I am seeing a lot of new nodes and gear around the area. Spectrum took down their High Split progress page, which last displayed the Buffalo market having been separated into at least two phases. They were working on Phase I as of December. My town, North Tonawanda, was specifically called out as “Completed but not activated” on the same post.
Also on the same post, it was specified that Spectrum aimed to complete “In Progress” builds such as the Buffalo Phase 1 segment within six months.
So far we are over 6 months since the node was replaced for my neighborhood, and we have not seen any speed bumps. There have been a number of outages, some happening for multiple hours during the day. I have been enjoying the lack of congestion on the upstream for the time being. Spectrum has a tendency to increase speeds during the summer months in this market, so I’m holding out some hope they will fire up the increased upstream bandwidth by then.
