Anyone have a copy of the DSLR (or otherwise) list of HighSplit locations and phasing? Bonus if it also has the status's of each.

Yes. Although maybe an entirely new system of keeping time and dates will be used by then. The closer upcoming issues are the Y2038, and then the Y2106 problem. The first one (Y2038) has mostly been addressed, but some legacy equipment will probably fall over (sort of like some of the Scientific Atlanta CableCARDs fell over at the end of 2024 for a different internal clock overflow).

the FCC broadband map has been updated and is showing more Texas cities with 1000/1000 cable as a speed max for Charter. Looks like phase 2 is starting in Austin, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Waco, Wichita Falls and probably other areas.

It looks like Killeen, TX went “live” with High Split from the FCC website BUT Spectrum’s BCI site shows different. I spoke with a line tech in Killeen a few weeks ago and he said they aren’t even close to being ready.

nucleartx they did the same thing with North Texas. They had areas showing as avaliable at least 6 months to a year before the speeds went live.

They have added a thread on the Spectrum community forums for high-split.

They only mention Jeffersonville Indiana as pending speed launch. Not sure if this means they are about done with phase 1.

Motorola870 wow! I think this is the first time I’ve ever seen Charter allow the employees to give us early info like this! I don’t even remember anything like this in the Time Warner Cable days!!

Not_Sure I mean they could add more to the list but with how long it has been taking to get DAA node software certified and the vCMTS gear working it may take until the beginning of the year to active more cities.

They have been doing prep work across the country to repack the spectrum to free up 54-204MHz for an expanded return path and have the diplex filter range of 54MHz from 204 to 258MHz.

They still are in the planning stages of getting 2gig/1gig rolled out fully in phase 1 areas.

from a post on reddit in the cabletech subreddit. Somewhere on the west Coast they are using 1.8GHz OTTZ technetic taps and Commscope actives. They mentioned that they haven’t put the DAA nodes in just yet but are replacing actives ahead of installing the nodes. I have to think it is likely LA or a small chance it being Sparklight but I don’t think they have systems along the coast mostly inland in Oregon that is a part of the Boise cluster.

Looks like Charter had a hard time sourcing high-split Arris/Commscope gear in North Texas. Looks like most of the 2025 activations were upgraded with Technetix amplifiers.

All have technetix amps that replaced Arris/Motorola gear. This is all I could find via streetview from 2025 there may be more cities using Technetix other than what I listed.

So the Dallas headend has different gear based on the hub level depending on the city.

The only draw back I have seen about the technetix amps is the lack of return path test ports for techs to balance or test.

Return path test points are not for balancing but to measure ingress, and they’re not great for that because they’re 20dB down from input. Most use remote upstream monitoring and electronically switchable pads for more accurate ingress tracking.

Edit looks like my neighborhood has 2gig available now. We just wait to see when someone on the CMTS orders it.

Checked 3 addresses around the DFW metro and they all show up on the broadband label website as having 2 gig available. Looking around the metro it seems to have been a large launch. They must of waited to activate the last few remaining cities in late may to offer it.

wlm0 Did more digging and it showing as available in Rochester NY and St. Louis metro areas. They haven’t posted an update on the spectrum community forums but it seems like they did a large push this week on availability. I did notice that Granbury and Glen Rose still only show SPP4 Gig as their top tier not sure what is going there.
