Huge increase for Sportsnet+

Just got notified by email from Rogers.
Sportsnet+ Premium is going from $249 to $324.99 per ~~month~~ year. What’s that…. a 23% increase?
And they killed off the early bird specials last year too.

I cancelled. I’m paid up until Sept 23. That’s it for me.
I’ll be returning to …er…. other services for my NHL. 🙂

That makes much more sense. Still, not worth it but that is my opinion.

Donoreo I wonder if there is any concept of Winback if you cancel. Probably not because there is no direct alternative.

In 2023 there was an early bird special of $179 per year. Gone.
Then $249.99, no discounts, no winback if you cancel, they don’t give a shit.
Now $324.99. No thanks.

Earlybird for NHL Center Ice on Bell is $209. Or at least it was last year. We’re considering it.
If they jack theirs up to, more shenanigans, we’ll go right back to the shady ways.

dillyhammer I imagine they have done some sort of yield management analysis on this and believe that the number of subscribers they lose will be more than compensated for by the subscription increase.

dillyhammer Who do you think is paying for the player’s salaries, given that Rogers owns MLSE, the Leafs, Blue Jays, Raptors and more? You want the Leafs to win the Stanley cup? Pony up. I am quite happy with TSN and Sportsnet (5 channels each) as part of my Bell Satellite package.

Dks01 Yup, I’m quite happy with TSN and Sportsnet via the Bell Fibe TV app. For me, a good value considering what I’m paying.

The issue of a 23% increase in one go is quite another story.
To boot, a good number of games will be diverted to Prime exclusives.
It’s getting to be a bit much.

The only thing that can help the Leafs win the cup is the Leafs.
Nothing to do with Rogers.
