As per a less than 100% confirmed report, he really wanted to stay.

Steve Helling and Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post report that Rodgers "pleaded" with the Jets to keep him, and that in the final conversations with the team's new regime "aggressively urged" the franchise to give him another year, or even two.
In the end he reportedly accepted the decision "like a man going to the gallows."
We've got no reason to dispute the accuracy of the report. But it sounds out of character for the coolly detached Rodgers to pivot to desperation. He just doesn't seem like the type to ever plead or urge or walk away with his tail tucked between his legs.
Implicit in the report is that Rodgers had decided to play in 2025, at least for the Jets. The question now becomes whether he finds a match with another team that might be interested.

Looking solely at some key statistics he wasn't too bad ( https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2025/01/10/where-did-aaron-rodgers-stats-finish-rank-end-new-york-jets-2024-season-nfl/ ) but the Jets only won 5 games and I think he was a little too active on social media. While he had better numbers than some other starters, some of his intangibles may keep him out of employment as a QB.

Shooting update.

According to a Philadelphia Inquirer report, the shooting happened when a 27-year-old woman and her boyfriend attempted to cut in line for a porta-potty. A fight broke out when a person punched the boyfriend and someone in the crowd fired a gun, striking the woman in the leg and a 20-year-old bystander in her thigh.
Both victims are currently in stable condition at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, police said.
According to Action News, police identified the shooter as 28-year-old Brandon Ramos. He's facing several charges, including aggravated assault and simple assault.

The off-the-field shenanigans were a bit of a distraction.
It wasn't all on Rodgers, though he had way too much say in team operations. His play wasn't the best of his career, but it wasn't terrible either. He never lived up to the hype, or what they were paying him. Not with Adams and Wilson and Hall and even Lazardd to throw to.
Firing Saleh and elevating the D-coordinator to head coach was a huge mistake. Ulbrich was overwhelmed and the defense struggled. Rodgers didn't get comfortable with the offense until late in his second year. The o-line wasn't playing that great. Play-calling seemed out of whack. Too many problems.

Now the Jets seem to be re-tooling the whole organization.

Texas A&M Baseball tries to pretend losses don't happen

On Saturday, Sam Khan, Jr., who covers sports in Texas for The Athletic (NY Times affiliate), posted on X something unusual he found on the Texas A&M website about media coverage of the school’s baseball team. He noticed that it said on the school site that Texas A&M baseball players would not be available for comment after losses.

His post had more than 400,000 views and drew immediate attention from those who rightfully pointed out how ridiculous it was for Texas A&M to make players available only after the team won.

They quickly backtracked on this absurd policy.

Players should be allowed to comment on losses, not only wins.

This can provide good information for fans, and also can demonstrate good sportsmanship

I don't think runners should be helped by other players at all.
But I think the way the Eagles O-line is set up, they would probably still convert a lot of those 1 yard rushes without the help.

One thing I thought was funny was Green Bay was saying Bart Star just used the QB sneak. Bart played when I was in HS in the early 60's 😃
