DIRECTV ‘Anticipates’ Adding Nationals, Ex-FanDuel Teams By Opening Day

… as you may know, the Washington Nationals are no longer on MASN, the regional sports network (RSN) in the Washington-Baltimore market. Instead, the team partnered with Major League Baseball to stream its games on Nationals.TV. Nine other teams (Braves, Reds, Tigers, Royals, Marlins, Angels, Brewers, Rays and Cardinals) have exited their agreements with the financial crippled FanDuel Sports Network and will also be streamed on team.tv channels via MLB TV.

DIRECTV, and several other TV providers which carried those teams in 2025, do not have carriage agreements with MLB for them in 2026. However, we have predicted that the deals will come by Opening Day in late March. (Read our article on why it will take that long.) And DIRECTV is now telling The TV Answer Man that it does ‘anticipate’ adding the Nationals and the other ex-FanDuel teams by then.

“We’ve been the first distributor to offer all the prior MLB team channels (Padres, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Guardians, Twins) and anticipate having the MLB teams on the league channels in time for Opening Day,” a DIRECTV spokesman told The TV Answer Man via e-mail. On DIRECTV’s web site, the TV provider even has a channel ‘to be determined’ designation for the nine FanDuel teams and the Nationals. Women’s college basketball is an absolute joke. UCONN is AUTOMATICALLY going to the final 4 for the 30th season in a row, or something like that. When you look at the scores during the season on any given day, alot of the scores are like 110-47. Even during the in-confrence game part of the season. I’m not criticizing UCONN. I’m criticizing everybody else. Well, I guess I’m criticizing UCONN for hogging all the top talent, but everyone else should try harder to get some of it.

I’m not a basketball fan .. but when I saw the Raptors in a tight game with the Cavs, I tuned into the 4th quarter .. wow, super entertaining.

Sparing as it may be, the one Raptor I always notice when I tune in is rookie Collin Murray-Boyles. I think the Raptors may have indeed snagged a really good one w/ CMB.

I picked a helluva game to see last night..Mets are in town at Nats Park for a 4 game series…Mets win 16-7, in extra innings…yes extra innings. Scored 10 (Ten!) in the top of the 12th in a 6-6 game at the time, basically just turned into batting practice. I later learned it was the most runs in an extra inning in 107 years (!) Dont’ look now, Mets are 11-5 in May, actually threatening to crawl out of the cellar!
Bad news is we probably used up all our runs this series in this game alone. 😛
