Will my phone work in Antigua?

I have a Google Pixel 3 XL Android version 12

I think I have a nano sim? Trying to figure out how to take a photo of it.

I am with Freedom Mobile on the Holiday Miracle Plan from 2011.

Do I need to call them up & some roaming or?

Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Going to Antigua for a friends Destination wedding.

I would call them and ask them what you should do.

I’m with Bell and I have a plan where I pay $10 flat rate on my bill every month which covers international data.

Be prepared though, you’re going to have terrible service anyhow, your phone will flip between Flow (garbage) and Digicel (decent) depending on where you are but overall services getting from here to there is spotty regardless of how good or bad the mobile company is which is why everyone in the Caribbean uses Whatsapp for phone calls on wifi rather than relying on regular phone or data.

Personally I wouldn’t do anything and just enjoy the trip.

You really need to talk with your carrier.

Your phone PROBABLY can use eSIM, but not eSIM and physical SIM card at the same time.

These guys have a decent reputation and offer eSIM service for various countries.

But as was said, try to use WiFi and WhatsApp etc where you can—as long as it seems a safe WiFi connection.

Did you look at your provider’s travel coverage page first? You can get a 30 day travel plan with your provider. Cost is $30 to $50 CAD. Do NOT try swapping your sim card with a local provider. The sim card may not work and you may find your phone won’t work on your old plan when you return to Canada. Good. Fast. Cheap. Choose any two.

Maybe you can get an esim for Antigua, much cheaper than roaming.

Ok added the $30 roam anywhere plan from Freedom.

I had a Pixel when they first came out and never had a problem in Europe.

For some reason which I no longer remember I got rid of it and started buying unlocked phones and using ATT. Get a SIM for that country I’m in and works fine. Not as convenient but I don’t travel as much.
