I remember that airplane repo. It reminded me of the planes we saw at an auction ATF had confiscated from drug distributors. Some were in good shape, others were deathtraps, having endured poor maintenance and structural damage from landing in fields and potholed dirt runways.

All that was salvageable were engines and scrap metal. The airframes were trash.

I watched that a few times but it was sooo staged and phony. 🙄

…I recall the one woman – forget her name – the one guy asked her to undo one or two buttons to her shirt to be a “distraction.” Another ep, she had to stay overnight in jail, and he made offhand remark “I have to feed you now?”

Yeah, it was schlock, but it tickled my aviation bone 😃 😃

HooRU I’ve done some repos.

It’s a good way to get shot at, I had the rear window of my tow truck shot out by some jerk who didn’t make his payments.

Not to be deterred I went back with some friends, one fired three tear gas slugs through the guys front door that slowed the guy down enough to hook the car and get the heck out of there.

Unfortunately I failed to properly secure the steering wheel and it went hard right causing the front of the car to swing to the left and by the time I realized that I had smashed the drivers side into a utility pole doing a significant amount of damage to the car.

Anyhow the next Friday (payday) the guy went to the lot made his back payments and was quite upset when he when he got his car back.

Oh well as they say the best way to get back on ones feet is to miss a payment. ;-)

I ran an auto rental office and I had a fleet of 165 cars. Sometimes renters stole them. That was down in Texas where everyone has a gun. This snowbird learned right quick how things worked down there. I didn’t mess around.
