About 6 months back I picked up a Crown XLS 802 at the Goodwill over in Clewiston for $50, I figured the components inside where worth that much, once back home I hooked it up and it worked properly.
The next day I carried it back over there and asked for the manager, she showed up and began to explain to me sorry no returns on electronics, I explained I wasn’t returning it I wanted to know if they had any others.
She went to the back and returned with a worker who had a rack with 5 more racked in it, they where going to take them out of the rack and sell one at a time, I asked how much for all of it $200.
A few minutes later the same worker was loading the rack of amps into the back of my truck, I got a deal and they not paying a dime for them got a good deal too.
I only had half a need for one to swap out a XLS 402 with the 802 then I sold 2 and since they don’t have to be fed up in the loft the rest went for the next time I need to change out a blown 202.
They are great professional PA amps the only problem they have is they need a lot of ventilation or they will shut down, as such the most common problem with them is collecting dust and internal fans going bad.
It is a east repair as the fans are a standard model and the amps can be taken outside cover removed and the the dust blown out.
