For those in the area, Ohio has several great roads for biking and driving. The old Ohio route 13 between Moxahala and Corning OH was one. When I drove the road coal trucks were common and you didn’t want to dally. OH-13 was straightened out several years ago, so is not as winding and scenic as before. It ran along Sunday Creek for miles. For decades, the creek ran red and yellow from mine tailings. Now it’s clear and the water critters have returned.
OH-78(locally called the ‘rim of the world’ road) between McConnelsvile and Glouster, is another scenic curvy road.
The roads in the Hocking Hills/Ash Cave/cedar falls/Old man’s cave are popular for their scenery and biking. Lots of curves, so those in a hurry won’t like them.
Appalachian southeast Ohio was my stomping grounds, with a rich history of discovery, prosperity, exploitation and abandonment in the land of ‘the Little Cities of Black Diamonds’.
Edit - I must add OH-83 between New Concord and Beverly. A stop at the park where the Big Muskie’s dragline bucket remains is a good stop on the way.
