Emails to activate Disney+ and Paramount+

egeezer

I get these emails telling me my plan includes these, but I have to “activate” them. My trust in these guys’ marketing emails are minimal, so my question is “What’s the catch?”. Is it some kind of time limited crap where they start billing me for the additions after awhile? If they’re included, why would I have to “activate” them when they could just enable them in my account profile?

RemyM

There is no catch unless you don’t like the commercials and decide to pay for the commercial free service. They are included with your TV package. You certainly don’t have to activate them if you don’t want to.

Yes,
All Spectrum TV Select packages include ad-supported versions of the following:
Max (HBO Max)
Paramount+ (no Showtime) (Go ad-Free and get Showtime for $5.00 a month.) Legacy Gold and Silver plans have HBO/Showtime.
Disney+ Basic
Peacock
AMC+

Coming Soon:
Hulu
ESPN Streaming Service

Get an ad-blocker on your PC, it blocks all the ads! Or get universal ad-free on all devices for a small monthly fee, which is a fraction of what these channels used to be before streaming options. The Brave Browser is most secure, and blocks ads and trackers right out of the gate!

Thanks for the replies. 🙂 I was suspicious because it’s advertised as being part of my package and no additional cost, but they don’t just enable it.

I don’t get why I have to activate it instead of Spectrum simply authorizing it in my profile.

Is there some technical reason for having the user initiate the activation instead of Spectrum doing it in my profile?

satch

egeezer Spectrum has decided to make the streaming channels “Opt in” instead of “Opt out” because all users need to have a username and password with each channel. That user name and password should be the same one that you use to log in to your online Spectrum account. All the companies do “opt in.”

There is no requirement to activate these channels, but yes, they are included with your subscription at no additional cost.
