As the title says, this is about sharing your systems. New, old, retro, vintage, any platform, what gets you through work, what handles your play. Whichever you care to share, show it off. So, here’s my present main pc. I tend to name my builds after Pokemon. So with that, Meet Solgaleo. FWIW, my RyZen 3950X system has been running a bit hot recently. I had tentative plans to re-case it way before this issue popped up but now it looks like it needs some attention to keep the temps down. Currently its using an old (not quite fit for purpose) Zalman MS800 mid tower case. I’ve since purchased a cheap Phanteks Eclipse G370A case for ~$40 after rebate, which, is a better fit.

I’ve also purchased:

Antec Luna 360mm AIO (~$44)
Thermalright Trofeo Vision LCD AIO Display 9.16” (~$44)

I figure the old CoolerMaster Master Liquid 240mm AIO is no longer cutting it. A 360mm AIO won’t fit in the Zalman MS800 so I have to rebuild the thing to make the change. The Thermalright Trofeo Vision LCD AIO Display has a magnetic back and uses USB-C so I can either mount it internal to the case or just put it on my desk somewhere. I’m leaning on putting it on my desk, however, it apparently has Linux support. As such I might try connecting it to a Linux box or a VM to play around with.

Just received the Thermalright Trofeo Vision LCD display (9.16”) and it’s a nice bit of kit. It’s a Fully enclosed design with an outer plastic shell and a USB-C cable (pin to motherboard or USB-A adap7included). I have yet to give it a go but it was fairly cheap.

Unfortunately it requires proprietary software to work in Windows but again there is a Linux user initiative that supports it too.

The Antec Luna 360mm AIO doesn’t arrive until Sunday but I’m not sure when I’ll have the time to actually do the work.

Small, but notable update(s).

Starting first, Arceus and Solgaleo both getting swapped over to a round of Arctic P12 Pro aRGB fans.

For arceus, the downside in the meantime is just that the motherboard only has the old style, 4pin 12v rgb headers. So would need a standalone aRGB controller to link the lights to to operate and get them working again.

For Solgaleo, it was high time to do some loop maintenance, so the fans swap was as good a reason as any to go get it done.

Next up should be building out the loop for Darkrai.

And now, Darkrai can get their regiment. In a way, becoming Mega Darkrai.

First embarrassing point was when I was finally ready with stuff gathered, expecting to bring the tower out to put everything in, and… Well, the mounting hardware for the CPU block was there, but not the block. I dont know where it went. Least I was able to go to Bookman’s and source the one they had, an EK block. Shockingly, it was new old stock. Just had to open it up as part of the process to put in the recommended jet plate. Moving on…

Things went on along, until it was time to sort out the front radiator. Up till recently, I’ve apparently been used to using slim radiators in liquid cooled systems. So this thicker one proved more challenging for the available space. Especially with attaching the pump reservoir unit to it. Once that was solved, everything else came along swimmingly.
