Curious if anybody else has the same issue.. I have a customer that is using his own router that was connected behind the Centurylink provided router that was in bridge mode. (He didnt know he could actually bypass it) He had the credentials and tagging in his router and it worked since he had the fiber installed. With help from C-Link customer service he was able to reset the C-Link router and get internet back to be online though it but he obviously wants his router back.
Yesterday we tried many variations including using a Linksys router that I use for troubleshooting this kind of thing and could not connect direct to either the router in bridge mode or direct to the media converter which should be possible.
We can look at how C-Link has their provided router set up and copy the credentials directly out of it so we know that the tagging and credentials have not changed.. but something has obviously been mussed with.. PPPoe will not connect now.
I am going to go back sometime later with a larger pfSense box and try it but meanwhile would like to know if we are the only ones pulling our hair out.. For now he is double NATt’d which he does not want due to gaming he does..
