I've got 300/20 Mbps for $30, which is a great value, works perfectly for me, and is all I need. Heck, it's probably all most households of 3 or 4 people need.
But they keep sending me things to try to get me to upgrade (mail and email), but it's the same/regular $15 more to upgrade to 600/50 Mbps service. Realistically, if I needed more and haven't upgraded on my own, I'm probably not going to because they mailed me something (I'd probably upgrade online if/when I realized I needed more).
They need to send me a deal for 6 months of 600/50 for no extra charge or 12 months to get it for $10 more maybe (instead of $15), and I'd probably still have to decide on that (because lowering later is a bother).
Or even just $10 more a month forever (I'd jump on that). They could be making $120 more a year, for what would probably be a similar amount of data, just at a faster speed.
I just feel like they could be enticing me more to upgrade (but they've got to help me rationalize it!).
Even something unique like: 400/40 would be nice for $40, it'd be a tiny bit faster for downloads and I'd get the higher upload speed. The few times a month I upload something bigger, it'd be nice.
TBC, I know I don't need the higher speed, if I did, then I'd get it. They just need to sweeten the deal a little to entice me (50% more for something I don't "need" is kind of crazy). But a "deal" at $10 more might help me rationalize it.
Is anyone getting a better deal at a higher tier?
Basically, I'm talking better than what they're offering on the web site. I'm at 300/20 for $30, and I'm thinking 600/50 for $40 would be a good reason to upgrade (versus the current $45 for 600/50).
I've had the 1000/50 service and (as I've seen many other report) it's rare to get into the 900 or high 800 speeds (I only had it for the larger cap, but I dropped it when the cap went away, and that was for $50.99).
