Plasti Dip, (dip version, not spray) for tools, is it worth it?

I am at the point in my life where I have collected/made/moded/acquired/bought tools which either didn’t have a softer grip handle or lost it at some point through use/abuse/wear. I have painted some but aside from making it slightly easier to find when spewed across the garage floor it doesn’t do much for a better grip and does flake or chip off plated tools more so than unfinished ones.

If you have used the stuff to dip tools was it worth it, is it durable, any tips on how to apply it?

It will work but requires multiple coats to make a real difference in grip comfort.

As long as the handles are stripped clean of any oil or other contaminants and a thick coating is applied the material is quite durable, note is is not insulating so you still cannot use the tool of live devices or circuits.

Note a good cleaner is acetone, my second choice would be lacquer thinner if given a long enough flash off time say out in the sun.

Splitpair Good to know, power will not be a problem, I have other tools (rated) for that sort of work. Acetone is good, I have some already.
