Maybe a person working a second job delivering pizza’s trying to make enough money to make the car payments.
Now that stated Tesla’s are fun to drive, my wife and I had to go up north to attend a family member on her sides funeral, as a lark I rented a Tesla, driving it was fun those cars have balls, I could get on the interstate hit the throttle and it took off real quickly and quietly.
Finding a charger was a challenge but I did locate one next door to where we could get dinner, so I would plug it in we would have dinner and when we got back it would be charged up or real close to being fully charged up.
That stated based on the price of the vehicle and the real world life of the battery I would never purchase a new one tax cuts or not.
Now if I could find a used one with a battery range of 100 miles or so and at the right price, I may someday consider purchasing one just to have a car to drive, as for now we both own trucks and it would be fun to own a car with some real good stealth acceleration, sort of like owning a Road Runner without the noise.
The only other problem I might run into is charging, a Tesla level 2 charger needs 48 amps so that would require installing a 60 amp circuit to where I would place the charger which would be in the carport away from the home for safety reasons, now I can install that branch circuit myself, but the problem is the utility transformer providing our service is a 15 kVA which works out to 62.5 amps as such running that charger doesn’t leave much of a margin for the remainder of the home.
