[deleted]

I've seen a number of posts including my own not have an account name but instead say [deleted] without an avatar, and when refreshed they appear fine.

I was about to take a screenshot for reference but refreshed and my post appeared normally.

Anyone see this or know a solution? Using FireFox.

[deleted] There was a member (GuruGuy) who opted to leave the forum and asked for his account to be removed. For continuity, his posts remain but his user name has been replaced with [deleted].

Same behaviour for me with the same browser. I figure the admin is working out quirks. Initially, I thought I was on the shit list.

With FirFox I was getting clones of random topics being a Mod I tried to remove the cloned versions but it affected both versions but after a reboot it all turned normal.
But accessing the same page simultaneously. in Edge the topics appeared normal without the Cloned versions, So all these errors are FirFox Site generated interaction problems

One of my posts elsewhere has the name [deleted] also.

Running a site is hard, hope it's not too hard to iron the issue out.

I been seeing this with my owns posts as well. I am assuming it is just a glitch on the site at this time.

When I saw it at first, I thought that some of my posts were deleted but then I refreshed the page and it showed up the way it is suppose to be.

I just clicked on this one because it had HIVolt username deleted and when I opened the thread it showed his normal name and avatar.

A few seconds ago I observed @[deleted]'s name as 'deleted' in the first post in this thread.
I clicked on the avatar to its left - the profile page was normal. And when I returned to this page, 'deleted' was gone and the correct name was displayed.

It smells like some sort of race hazard to me.

Not so, I'm using Opera, which is Chrome based and it is happening in both computers. I use Linux Mint with Opera.

This theory is a work in progress, but there are a few instances where I've seen it happen so far:

In the case of GuruGuy as he registered and asked that his account be removed. Some of the "deleted" are his posts. In other cases it's due to Merged topics.

I saw that and I am surprised. He was extremely active in the first few days.

My posts, too, have been showing deleted from the start. I'm guessing this one will too and will follow up with another post.

Ok no more deleted and my screen name is showing correctly.

This evening my comments all showed "[deleted]" instead of a circle with the first letter of my pen name.
That eventually changed, but I'm not sure why. Maybe cookie issues, or something else.
Perhaps clearing browser cache would.

I get that too at times with Edge. Refresh fixes it. Just one of the site quirks.
