telcodad Awww, we’re not bummed out, we’re actually happy that things have been quiet so far for you southern guys.
Not me. Bring on the hurricanes!😛 I actually get excited when they’re coming.
I’ve been living in Southeast Florida for my whole life(48 years) and somehow I’ve avoided the worst that a hurricane can do(Wind and storm surge wise at least*). I think cat 3 is the worst I’ve experienced in ’04 "and/or ’05. There was also Irma**. I did go through Andrew, but I feel like I’m stealing valor when I say so since I was semi-safe in Northern Broward County while people in Dade County were going through hell. When everybody else in the house went to sleep, I stayed up all night until I fell asleep listening to coverage on the radio or watching the handheld color TV that I brought to my great aunt’s house when we evacuated to there.
*I have experienced the worst flood-wise, but it was from a tropical storm around 2000. Diane or Diana I think it was. We must’ve gotten at least 3 or 4 feet of rain. But the storm drain system in my neighborhood at the time was so good that the floodwater never got anywhere close to the houses.
**Did anybody else find Irma suspicious? I’ve never seen another storm behave like that. After it got up to 180+ MPH, its max wind speed and movement speed stayed EXACTLY THE SAME for days. Hurricanes just aren’t that stable. There should’ve been 1 or 2 eye replacement cycles where the wind speed decreased for half a day or whatever. It was also suspicious that it veered West right before it hit Florida(and Naples & the keys got the worst of it instead of Dade and Broward County). If you didn’t know any better, you’d think somebody was controlling it. Maybe somebody was controlling it and that was a dry run.
A hurricane being controlled by by somebody gives me an idea for one for one of those rediculous SCIFI movies on the SYFY channel. First the hurricane moves through a nuclear power plant and destroys it and sucks up alot of nuclear radiation. Then it goes through a drug operation somewhere in South or Centeral America destroying it and sucking up alot of cocaine. The cocaine in the hurricane becomes radioactive, and when the hurricane gets to Florida, it turns everybody in the path of the hurricane into cocaine addicted zombies(alot more zombie-ish than cocaine addicts usually are) even if they’re indoors when the hurricane comes through. Yes. I know. The hurricane isn’t controlled by anybody. Maybe I’ll write that in on the next draft.
The fact that I could come up with this off the top of my head, tells you how rediculous and insulting to SCIFI those SYFY channel SCIFI movies are.
