PS 5 vs Xbox Series S

I just added a PS5 to the collection yesterday because I have friends on both Xbox and PSN. Going to sell my old PS4 at GameStop once I get it all cleaned up and factory reset. The PS3 I have sitting around is probably good for the trash as it’s a dead system. My impressions so far on the PS5 are positive, downloaded the same game I had on Xbox (Paw Patrol, Grand Prix), yes it’s for kids but a great time waster and I downloaded the same game so I could compare the two systems head to head. I like the graphics better on the PS5 and I think the PS5 has better performance, particularly with cloud gaming. I would get lag on Xbox but the PS5 tears right through them and I’m on the same Xfinity internet connection.

I have to use an HDMI switch because I have more devices than HDMI inputs on the TV.

The Xbox Series S (not to be confused with the Series X) is the less powerful of the two and has kind of been an albatross around Microsoft’s neck this generation. The base PS5 has significantly more throughput so any multiplatform titles should look and run better, probably dramatically so in some instances, on there when compared to your Series S.

Congrats, it is a great system. Try out Spider-Man if you like that kind of stuff, I am not a trophy hunter but I have platinumed all 3 titles because they are very addictive for me, plus the stories are really good and it is beautiful on PS5.
