Downloaded macOS 26 and iOS 26

So far so good. I had a difficult seeing the difference when it comes to the LiquidGlass but you can really see the results on the device. Mine are an iPhone 15 Pro Max and a M4 MacBook Pro 14″. Also funny, but the changes really stand out on Broadbandbulletin compared to other sites. The coloring makes things pop on the tool bar. So far, so good.

Quick question on the iOS side of things. Does the beta have the full clear view thing with all the clear app icons? Are non Apple icons magically changed or do they remain as regular ones.

I just don’t have the time right now to install the beta on anything, as I’d answer the question myself.

markuswarren You can choose between appearance modes (default, dark, clear, and tinted) and yes it’ll make all the apps clear if wanted.

I have a hunch they’ll be tweaking the fine points of Liquid Glass until the late public Beta. Will be interesting to see how it evolves before Sept.

ChromeJob beta 2 already made the background darker with more of a frosted glass effect.

I just noticed that iPadOS 26 allows for dual audio sources. I had my iPad Pro 13” connected to an LG 32” 4K display with keyboard and mouse. While listening to a YouTube video I switched on audio for Reddit and was getting audio from both simultaneously. This was unexpected since I thought it would just pause the YouTube video instead of playing both with full audio.

I installed beta 6 yesterday, was expecting to see an issue that someone reported, but seemingly it doesn’t occur, could be that it only happened on prior betas, but good news all the same.

I’m not liking some of the interface changes, and not overly fond of the liquid glass thing either.

Well 9th September is new phone annoncement day, so I’d expect GM build of 26 that day, and live for everyone on 18th I’d guess.
