Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon

This one flew under my radar but I saw it mentioned so picked it up and played it all weekend last weekend. It’s good! It’s a first person RPG a la Bethesda, and the gameplay is very reminiscent of Oblivion in particular at its core. It’s set in a dark version of Arthurian legend and has elements of souls-likes.

This one is from a smaller studio but seems pretty robust and it only costs $45. I’ve heard there are performance issues but I have not noticed a lot. Anyway I’m really enjoying it, if you like FP RPGs give it a whirl.

It’s a lot of fun! It’s missing some polish, but honestly not a lot. I went battle mage at first, but am now playing sword and board. There’s a parry system that can be tough to pull off, but it works well when it does. The story and voice acting seem really good.

Are High Dex options as viable characters?

As a confirmed button masher, getting to go first and doing a lot of damage before my opponent can hit me is usually my go-to.

ElQuintron I believe they should be. I gotta be honest I haven’t researched builds or anything, but rogues are definitely a class in the game and dex is a stat you can sink points into. There is a dash that I am finding more useful than the shield so I may end up going that way myself; it’s easier just avoiding melee attacks than it is to block or parry them. Re-speccing is not super easy; there is a potion you can use to re-set your points. So far I’ve only found 2 of them during the normal course of playing.
