videomatic3 we still have to vote with our wallet. I have a friend that switched to Verizon fixed wireless internet and even though he hates it, Comcast was a bigger evil to him.
Choosing to suffer for one’s values is something not many choose to do. But it is still a valid decision (and I have done so for specific cases, so applaud those who choose to suffer for their own ethics/morals). But make no mistake, neither Verizon nor Comcast really care about the individual’s values and individual choices do not influence their decision making (numbers matter, and single digits are not even noise in the calculations; a half million might matter, but not a few hundred in a location).
And, as always, location, location, location. FWA works “adequately” for some (while the tower got demolished (for “reasons”) I once could see one of the mobile carrier’s towers out my porch window, and I suspect FWA performance would have been quite good). When I looked at FWA my issue was CGN and no IPv6-PD, which are show stoppers for my particular use cases.
