Larchman It would be nice if the former owner of dsl would put up a readable archive of all that good info.
Actually, the ethical thing to do would be for
1) The previous owner to offer to legally sell/transfer ownership of the old site’s database to someone who wants to be a caretaker and make the data publicly available from the forums that were open to the public.
2) Data from the forums that were not open to the public, those that potentially contain personally identifiable information, (direct forums, etc.) represents a vulnerability as long as the data is floating around somewhere, and all copies of that data should be deleted.
But given a financial incentive (and other potential motivations), I would not be surprised if select personal data showed up on the dark web at some point.
