My car doesn't have electric door openers luckily. However, even from the days when I was driving a Ford Tempo, I have always carried a hammer under my seat. I been in enough accidents when I was younger to know to carry one.
I still carry one in my car. I still have a jack handle on the floor near the door as well.
Now I haven't had to use them to get out of my car. Only thing I can say on this is that they did get used mostly when I was delivering pizzas but not for what the intended use. (I never got robbed.).
