Walmart’s $50 Onn 4K Pro just got a major upgrade to Android TV 14

Based on user comments, the update seems to be rolling out in the US, as users in Canada are not yet receiving it.

I applied this update to a Pro, and it went fine.

I then tried the regular 4K (the $19.88 one). It is bricked. It gets stuck at the Google TV animated logo. I tried a factory reset, and it complains some files are missing. Unless there is a way to force a deeper reset via the USB port, it is probably trash.

I think it’s toast for now. I replaced it with a Fire TV 4K Max (previous 8GB version) I wasn’t using after getting the newer one. It did an update as it’s been sitting awhile. Had to reinstall some apps as I am no longer using the USB/Ethernet adapter. Disney+ required a Clear Data as it froze on startup.
