That install looks terrible. I wonder if it’s temporary until something better comes along.
A lot of cox markets are mid split. Some even going high split I thought, and some using Calyx nodes for FTTH.
Then if it’s Comcast I heard that if an area isn’t started with Project Genesys yet, they might skip that area and go straight to FDX. Maybe there’s an issue getting FDX nodes so they had one of these in the warehouse and only need to hold over for a few more months until an FDX node goes in?
Cisco is EOL GS7000 nodes 10/31/25. So no more manufacturers support after then. Some companies like Harmonic and others I think designed an RPD that can fit in the GS7000 housing to breath new life into it. There’s probably a few hundred thousand of these nodes in the states at least, so certainly a market for retrofits.
