My doc is retired as of yesterday, he sent out a letter announcing the fact and also mentioned that his replacement has been lined up and will be notifying us that he is rostering new patients. Apparently thats the requirement from Ontario health that they roster. My Doc has worked out of a shared office with six others and they also run an after hours clinic with the various Drs on rotation filling in .
I need to call their office tomorrow to ensure i dont get left out. Dont go there much except for physical and the odd thing but if the need arises you want to be sure you have a Dr. He is my age so cant blame him but Its one of those things where you have been looked after for so long by the same person you get used to their style and now someone new. Dentist did the same thing ten years ago and his younger partner took over. Now he is hiring in a new partner with the view of taking more time off and eventually retire.
