Inspired by Jules Verne’s beloved Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Nautilus follows Nemo’s mission to enact revenge on the East India Mercantile Company, who took everything from him. Nemo audaciously steals a prototype submarine from the penal colony in which he is imprisoned, escaping into the ocean with a motley crew of fellow prisoners. He plans to reach the fabled Viking treasure buried at the Pillars of Halvar. But first, he must win the trust of his crew, and keep out of the clutches of the ruthless East India Mercantile Company, who will do whatever it takes to stop him.

Looks like it is a British series that aired on Amazon Prime in the UK and Ireland.

This… has possibilities. My first introduction to this was Disney’s “adaption.” Was only later I read the Jules Verne novel, and the hint who Captain Nemo was…

Andyross Yes, I watched it by alternate means back in Sep/Oct 2024. Fairly descent show, a different take on Captain Nemo. I rated it 7/10.

I got the 1st ep via alternate means, it’s got enough excitement and intrigue to hook my interest, especially the clashing stories between Nemo escaping with the Nautilus, and Humility escaping from a (likely) arranged marriage in Bombay. The rest of the cast in the 1st ep aren’t really given much yet, but the dreamer Benoit gives me some hope it isn’t all doom, gloom and darkness.

Will have to see where this goes, but my interest is definitely piqued!

I downloaded this via alternative means last year when it playing on Stan? overseas, watched a few episodes, seemed promising.

Reviews indicate story was not lacking (save maybe ending), kept moving.

Disney+ decided not to carry, left it to Amazon et al.
Wikipedia notes distribution to Sweden, then UK+Eire, then France,
then EU & AU[Stan] - and finally that rebellious colony & neighbor.

I watched the pilot episode and it was entertaining enough that I ended up watching the first 5 episodes in one day.
There’s some interesting characters and the show moves at a pretty good pace through the first half.
The visuals are excellent, on and off of the ship (they get into adventures on an island while looking for food).

Hopefully I’ll get to finish this up before the weekend.

Andyross IIRC, AMC+ had it available early on 29th. Like the morning or the afternoon which is likely before the air time on AMC

…I didn’t pay attention to the time AMC was airing, but I seem to recall them mentioning the 1st two episodes would be aired.

I’ve kinda stalled out on EP2 or 3 myself… I forget which 😃 😃

AMC+ aired the first two episodes before AMC so my colony and I watched hours early since we enjoyed Disney’s classic movie! TV show wasn’t too bad.
