The carrier has confirmed that this is by design, but claims that it’s not a privacy risk, and says that it can be toggled off if desired … However, the version currently rolling out has a completely separate – and permanently on – Screen Recording Tool in both iOS and Android versions. Andyross From the app’s own description of the feature, and in the article, this is only screen recording of the app itself, not everything on your phone. Unless you are constantly accessing your account info screens, it seems the risk is rather low.
xpxp2002 Andyross Yeah. Verizon supports something similar with their mobile app where customer service can follow along with you while on the phone with them. The only thing about this that stands out is that it is apparently opt-out, whereas the Verizon screen sharing is a per-session opt-in function that requires the customer to acknowledge and allow it every time.
