Programming an OBI1022

Before Obitalk disappeared, I played with direct programming of my OBI1022. Things seemed to be manageable. Now, for the first time since Obitalk, I’m trying to configure a new number on an OBI1022. Everything seems to be working well except that when I click on Reboot, as required, the information entered disappears. How do I get the phone to retain the data?

Just to double-check, you clicked “Submit” at the bottom before rebooting, right? I have an Obihai100 so it may be different though.

Are you scrolling down on the page, clicking submit, and waiting to get the “Configuration Update Successful” message before rebooting?

primerisk Yes. I’ve tried it several times.

I just tried it though the keypad and got the same results. After rebooting, the newly entered data disappears.

Assuming you’re talking about Speed Dials, after submitting the changes (in IP Phone/Line Keys?), if you generate (before rebooting) a backup file under System Management/Device Update/Backup Configuration, does the backup file contain the changes you made?

Edit: Or are you talking about provisioning a new GV number?

Go to System Management , “Auto Provisioning” and make sure “OBITalk Provisioning” is disabled. This issue cause me some pain. Although OBiTalk is no longer active, if it is not disabled, changes made will not stick!

I’m still fighting the monster. I have another 1022 that is properly provisioned for a non-Google Voice number, and copying that exact information from one phone to the other does not cause the second phone to access the account. I’m going to continue the fight for a while, and then I guess I’m going to try flashing the new third-party software.

How are you copying the info from one phone to the other? A backup file doesn’t save passwords or PINs, so those would have to be re-entered manually.

andre2 Manually. I just went through the configuration process from voip.ms for the OBI200 (https://wiki.voip.ms/article/OBi_100/110_%26_OBi_200) but it’s not complete for the OBI1022. The subaccount is registering, but the button is not correct, and the number is not displayed. If I ever get it going once, I think I’m good to go. The voip.ms article seems complete for disabling Auto Provisioning, which I think was a previous problem, but assigning the subaccount to the button is not properly configured.

Edited: I think I got it. Writing the above response clued me that the Line Keys have to be configured. I found it and configured it. Now it’s working except that it shows the wrong number, which should be a configuration in voip.ms. Thanks for the help.

Edited again to add: The wrong number was in the Phone configuration section. I now know how to configure these things to work with voip.ms.
