GrumpyCanadian Anonymous person called, someone that clearly was familiar with the operation (having access to it or been near enough to see sick birds); a worker, a neighbour, someone close enough that they felt compelled to report what was clearly a cover up by the owners. This person deserve an award, left to their own devices this farm of horrors would have been continuing to run rogue till its eventual financial implosion; it was not a viable business which is why the company has pivoted around from meat, to oil, to cosmetic, to alleged research (with no income or revenue to be found) to a public political petting zoo leaning hard on social media grifting. I didn’t check but I bet they also sold candles too.
Over her in Ontario a bill called “Security from Trespass and Protecting Food Safety Act”, the public marketing spin was that it would protect farmers and producers from wackos that would come onto their land, squat and protest laughable non-existing things such as “cow sexual assault” or release farmed animals into the wild. Unfortunately and just as expected the law goes further providing a means to punish anyone that happens to discover abuse, neglect, harm or other issues if their happen to annoy the farmer/producer. Some of the law has been cut down by the courts as being over reaching (the bill effectively banned public protest on public lands), what remains still should have the public concerned.
