Was looking for some fast ADC boards on eBay when I accidentally stumbled onto this 😲

Essentially, a 10 bit, 1 Msps (mega samples per second) ADC. It may have been several hundred dollars when it was new, (early 70s?), but unlike the super high end audio chip I posted on DSLR, this should have zero practical use nowadays, aside from being a museum piece or somesuch.
For kicks, I looked on Digikey, and the most expensive listed price for an ADC is an eye watering $16,356.40 for some obsolete, out of stock item. For an in-stock, non-radiation hardened item the highest price is $4829.64, and that’s a 12 bit 4 Gsps (giga samples per second) TI ADC.

The closest ADC with a single piece price of around $1500 was a 14 bit 2.6 Gsps Analog Devices ADC.

For comparison, I plan on getting an AD9226 (12 bit, 65 Msps) based board that not counting tariffs should be under $40.
