How enthused would you be if your commencement speech for one of your greatest life’s achievements was being given by a puppet? I don’t care how famous the puppet or its original creator was and that he came from your school.

I might have gone to my own commencement ceremony if that had been the case!

(I am not one for pomp and circumstance - the achievement was in the doing)

Actually this is better than some commencement speeches is given lately. Wake Forest and Duke were particularly bad. They should invite puppets next year too.

Astyanax I don’t care how famous the puppet or its original creator was and that he came from your school.

Could be given by a tape recorder for all I care, the other half of the equation is WHAT the speaker has to say?

Think we can all agree, what Kermit said was caring, compassionate, inspirational and aspirational… with a touch of (self)deprecating humor that broke the tension when needed. “Right here at UMD when the food at the Stamp was good.” XD XD

That’s why I said “I don’t know”. The content of the speech was very good. It was that it was given by a puppet that I took issue mixing my review of it.

Also this weekend one commencement speaker talked about trophy wives and Al Capone… 🙁
