In the “I pay too much for my winter coat department”, the company saw gains in direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales, strategic retail expansion, and brand elevation efforts, with total revenue increasing 7.4% to $384.6 million in Q4. Key highlights include a 15.7% increase in DTC revenue, a 17.8% rise in gross profit, and a doubling of operating income compared to the prior year period.

I got an expedition parka in, I think, 2008, it was $610. It looks like they are $1795 now, and there still seems to be demand for them at that price.

Whoops. I was wrong, it seems the current version of what I have is now called the Expedition Parka Fusion Fit Heritage. It’s priced at $2095. Yikes

MichelR I’m surprised it’s not been that for a while. I did get mine as I loathe the cold and it does keep you toasty. The problem is lugging it around a mall, as it’s too warm to wear inside. I’ve seen some people wearing them in malls and stores and I’ve no idea how they manage that.

My niece has a less hardcore version and it has backpack like straps in it to help you carry it around.

markuswarren I have an old North Face jacket that has seen better days and I’ve been looking at a replacement, but these prices are brutal.

markuswarren I have the expedition parka in black - I bought late season spring in 2017 - it was $699. It’s now $1799. I would not have bought it at $1799. It is great at keeping me warm in the coldest part of winter but it’s literally too much jacket if the temperature is above -10C. I rather wear one of my sherpa jackets from -10 to +5, and above that my Klim riding jacket. At -20 and windy, nothing beats the Canada Goose expedition jacket though - it’s down to my knees- keeps my thighs and waist warm, the hood is “enveloping” of your head, the fur keeps snow out of your face, all around it’s like being in a mini warming hut while you’re out in the cold.
