Seems he’d have to pick his hill to die on. You can’t be singing the song of government efficiency, then spend trillions on a project that you said would cost $175 billion and be operational in three years or less, while at the same time looking to bring in more tax cuts for the rich.
It seems that the Chinese have one good way to force some difficult decisions related to this: demand repayment for as much U.S. debt as they can, as it becomes possible for them to do so.

Is that how he’s presenting it? I thought that was a little ambiguous, and convinced myself that he meant we are considering participation in his nonsensical project. Nobody has anything close to a mandate to undertake that other nonsense, and he has to know that by now.
As far as I’m concerned, we won’t pay for it because we know better and we don’t want it. We are considering becoming a state as much as the United States is considering asking us to turn their land into the fourth and fifth Canadian territories, with Donald eligible to be premier of neither.
Hydraglass it seems like it would be throwing money from tax dollars at some research and development departments of defense contractors, supplying some jobs for a few years, maybe causing some tech advancements, and that’s about all that would actually come out of it as far as return on dollars spent.
