Since all of these companies are failing to “innovate” their way to a system that is fair, we will have to tell them how it is going to work. So, this will be the way of the future for them. So-called micro-transactions are all the rage in the gaming industry; now they will be coming to AI. Every time one of these AI systems digests someone else’s content to produce an output, the publisher or independent author of said content automatically and unavoidably receives a commission through a new micro-transaction system that will be introduced. No more “free” or “fair-use” training data that costs nothing. You couldn’t be trusted to conduct business in an honest, fair way, so it will be fixed on your behalf (read “imposed”).
